So you have decided to become a real estate agent or broker and completed all the necessary education. Now it’s time to take the exam that will determine if you have the knowledge and skills to work in your chosen field. Ed Sarfo offers some tips for anyone preparing to take the real estate exam.
- Take the exam as soon as you finish classes. The material will be the freshest in your mind right after finishing school so take it as soon as you can. When you are nearing the end of your coursework, make sure you register to take the exam if necessary. It may also be a good idea to brush up on the topics you learned at the start of class so you know the basics as well as the more complex parts of real estate.
- Know the rules of the test. Before stepping foot into the examination room, make sure you are prepared with the right calculator, writing utensils, time and place (you might be surprised how some people can forget or mix this up when they are nervous), identification needed to get into the exam and food or drinks, if they are allowed. By being familiar with the environment and rules you will feel more confident on test day, and will show up to the right place.
